Preparing for competitive examination is a rigorous and challenging task. The more challenging is to get the relevant and concise materials for such examination. In order to get appropriate materials, candidates are perturbed and always in rush to collect the relevant materials like books, articles, notes, journals and anything else that could assist them to achieve their goal. However, the quest for such materials is not only very time consuming, it is equally uncertain that whether the collected materials would adequately address their requirement for the examination.
We believe that success does not entirely depend on the mater and materials you have but also on the art of presenting the materials in a precise and concrete way. Understanding and scoring is quite different matter and high scoring is not possible on writing what we know but on writing what we are asked and how we present it within a specified time. Realizing this fact, we have made an attempt to ease and facilitate the preparation of the exam through writing this book. We have firm belief that it would certainly build up the confidence of the examinee.
Like yours, we still remember those days of looking into the relevant material in bookshelf in the book houses, searching notes and articles and so on for excelling in the exam. It was painstaking and time-consuming indeed. Think, how difficult it is to compile and preserve all those materials prescribed in the syllabus. Had we got a single but all-encompassing and comprehensible material like this, it would have been bliss for us. Based on that experience, we decided to prepare a single but a comprehensive material for those candidates aiming to excel in competitive exams so that, we hope and believe, at least, they need not to spend their time just for searching the materials in the market and library. Of course, this book is developed primarily on the basis of NRB's syllabus, however, it is designed in such a way that it caters the needs of the graduate and masters level students of Economics and Management as well as the Researchers.
We confess to our fellow readers that we don’t claim originality. We have had taken various references in the course of preparing the book and it is obvious from the long list of bibliography as well. The book is complete in itself but the readers will get a better understanding of the subject if they could refer to other readings as well.
We would like to thank all those who have directly or indirectly encouraged, influenced, and contributed us to write this book. Finally, we would like to remind the readers that this is our second collective attempt to write a book. The mistakes, missing, and weaknesses observed in the first attempts are corrected, amended and updated.
